Hi, I just filed a takedown on a YouTube video because someone stole my content. A little bit after I did this, the creator of the video told me they would take the video down, which they did. Because the video is no longer available, would I get in trouble for a false claim, even though it was a valid takedown

Hi, I just filed a takedown on a YouTube video because someone stole my content. A little bit after I did this, the creator of the video told me they would take the video down, which they did. Because the video is no longer available, would I get in trouble for a false claim, even though it was a valid takedown request at the time, and did not know that they would take down the video?

Other answer:

Daniel:
No. If you filed a valid takedown request, then you did the right thing as a legal copyright owner to get somebody to voluntarily delete the video from their channel. You won't face any consequences for filing this claim.
keerok:
You requested for someone else to take down your video. They took it down. You should be happy. Why worry? Were you lying?
Lifeisaride:
No you will not get in trouble for a false claim.
Fle:
Depends if the uploader is rich and is capable of sueing you.
