It is not a scam!
The truth is that Yahoo got hacked 3 years ago and they are only now telling us about it! (500 million users in 2014 and 1 billion users in 2013). They have informed all of us to change our passwords and stuff! …but come on, three years ago??? They sure waited a long time before letting anyone know!
MIKE:
yes. errrr actually it could be real. Yahoo is always getting hacked. If there are no links to click on the email then its probably from them. If there is a link, just to be safe, DONT click it. Changing the password can be done through your profile options, no links necessarry
Patricia:
Thank you, both of you for the answers. This is the second one I have received from them this week strongly suggesting I change my info. They say it has been going on since 2013 and that they sent me an email in Sept regarding this but I have no record or memory of that one. Something just doesnt feeel right, but then again, it is not hard to mistrust these days. thank you again.
PurpleVeridia:
No. Yahoo was majorly hacked, it was even in the news. They want you to change your password to protect your account. The hackers got the passwords to everyone's account.
