Sometimes bad things happen for a good reason.

Continue using your old version of Windows until your old PC dies.

And then, save $10 a week, if you can. In a year you can BUY an Apple Mac Mini, the best bargain on the planet, and show Microsoft you don't like them bullying it's loyal customers. Even a 15" ChromeBook is more reliable than any malware-infected version of Windows. But, don't believe me, just wait for the masses to rebel…

If you didn't take advantage of the free upgrade, then it just means you don't have the free upgrade. It's a free offer, not mandatory. So anytime in the future IF you decide you want Win 10 after all, you will have to buy it. The cost is going to be around the same cost as their other operating systems:

Now you'll need to purchase Windows 10 when you do decide to update your computer version of Windows 7 thru 8.1 .

Now you pay for it (W-10). And I have no idea how much Microsoft will charge, but it might be VERY high (my own personal guess), because NO body can say they didn't have a chance for an entire year to upgrade for free.
Chris P:
Save up your pennies and pay for it.

The Home edition costs $120 (£91) and the Professional edition costs $200 (£151).

Thomas:
bite the bullet and make a move to linux!
Ebony:
