When building a computer, is it okay to use a screw that has some paint scratched off of it when putting in your power supply?

I guess im paranoid about this but the screw has paint missing and im worried about it having my build short out or something like that

Why would the screws have paint on them to begin with. I've been building computers for over 25 yrs and I've never received or used a screw with paint on it.

It could have no paint on it at all and work just fine. Those screws serve two functions….1) to hold the power supply in place, and….2) to serve as a common ground between the power supply and the case.

You wont short out your computer if you put it into the proper screw hole as there is no electricity around that area. Hope this helps 🙂

Not the reason for worries. This is just a screw.
