I have Avast, CCleaner, Spybot, Superantispyware, Malwarebytes, Glary Utilities.
I m probably overdoing it so I was wondering what I could get rid of and still be safe.
Uninstall Spybot and SUPERAnti-spyware,Malwarebytes is sufficient. Here are some other suggestions:a better firewall than Windows like the free version of Comodo or ZoneAlarm. An anti-key logger like KeyScrambler or ZemanaAntilogger.A more secure browser like JonDoFox (not the vpn.disable the JonDo setting and switch to No Proxy)
A free VPN like SecurityKISS or just get the Epic Privacy Browser with the free vpn.
Avast is good, toss the rest. What you should have is an adblocker like ublock origin (makes youtube more enjoyable), and a firefox addon that*s called "https anywhere", which will try to encrypt each and every connection.
What you also should do is adjust your mail software to not open things automatically. Best thing to do these days is use the IMAP protocol and just download the subject line, so you can delete the mail content right on the server without any possible harm to your computer. But make sure that DELETE really means DELETE, not just "move to trash".
Yes, over protection. Use Avast, Malwarebytes, CCleaner and an Adblocker such as uBlock or the Windows Host File. Nothing else is needed.
You could even remove Avast and upgrade to Malwarebytes Premium. It now is a full AV replacement security program.
You are overdoing it. You only need 1 anti-virus & 1 anti-malware program. Uninstall Superantispyware, Glary Utilities, & Spybot. Download and install the free Web OF Trust (WOT) to protect you from malicious web sites. https://www.mywot.com
