How does your body get rid of the flu or a cold AFTER you've been infected?

The whole issue of viruses for computers is that there is software out there that is designed to operate much like vaccines, or hazmat suits. The software protects you by preventing the infection in the first place.

But if you get infected, the solution will vary based on what virus or malware you have on your PC or laptop. Some can be fixed by rebooting from a clean boot disk and then making sure that the software is cleaned. You might be able to fix it by rolling back to a point in time when the infection was not there using Windows "System Restore".

But every computer virus case is different. Much like treatment for the measles would be different than for cancer. So the best way to get rid of a computer virus is avoid getting it in the first place.

Factory Reset? Are you kidding?

If your computer is running Windows 10 you can just get a copy of Windows 10 on the Microsoft site (use the media creation tool) and let it make you a bootable USB device with Windows 10 on it. Make sure you get the same version you are using now. Then reinstall Windows. After reinstalling install a virus scanner to make sure no files containing viruses are left on the computer (e.g. on other drives).

Having a full system image which takes 20 minutes is your best protection against any thing that can happen if you get the encrypt virus your screwed if you did not make an image but if you have one it's a simple matter to plug in the external hard drive

And reinstall the image your computer comes back with everything exactly were you left it.

The most complete antivirus scanner in the world right now is HerdProtect it will scan your entire device using the databases of almost every antivirus that exists. If this does not find and delete virus that you have then there's nothing else that exists that will do it.
There is no other antivirus scanner more powerful than HerdProtect because it uses 68 antiviruses in one scanner.
I will eat my computer if anyone has something better

Turn off your PC and then turn it back on again. As soon as you see the BIOS loading screen (it should have the logo of your model) hold down F8 and select "Safe Mode with Networking" from the menu with the arrow keys (up/down and enter). You should see Windows loading drivers for 30-45 secs and then you login as usual, yes Windows, will look messed up, but you should be able to install an antivirus program. Use these two: Kaspersky TDSSKiller and Avast! Free Antivirus. Run the "Full scan" option on both and it should remove the virus.

*phew* Glad if I helped.

There are number of methods, the first being that you could take your computer to a computer technician who would sort it out for you or you could remove the virus yourself by download a virus remover like Avira or Avast.
