Abdullah: Most, but not all PCs come with an inbuilt WiFi adaptor – If your PC does not have one, you can buy a WiFi Adaptor at your local PC/Internet/Techno store.

These Youtube videos will help you install a WiFi adaptor.

The other thing you might wish to do, is extend the 'reach' of your WiFi signal so you can use your home based WiFi out there in the back yard of where you live.

Here's something to keep in mind which will help you through your whole life. Confucius once said, "Show me and I will learn". Thus, if you wish to know and learn anything, see it on film and you can get almost everything you want via Youtube. Keep in mind too that you can stop and start and rewind and etc so that you do not have to race at the same speed as the expert explaining whatever it is you need to know about.

sorry for the long winded blah answer

It's an adapter that can be used to connect to a WiFi signal if your computer doesn't have a ''built-in" WiFi adapter. Some adapters are installed internally or can plug into a usb port. The software is then installed on the hard drive.

It enables your computer to connect to the internet via WiFi, if there's a WiFi source available (usually your own wireless internet modem). Almost all laptops have one inbuilt. For desktop computers, you only need one if you use wireless internet.

A USB Wi-Fi adapter eliminates the need to hardwire the computer to a router or other network device. … The adapter receives signals from a wireless router or other wireless device and translates the signal so the computer user can access the Internet any time they are in range of a Wi-Fi hotspot or wireless network.

it connects a pc to a router for internet access or just to a printer if you dont have a router. you need it only if a) you want internet access via cable/telephone using wifi. b) if you cant use a lan cable to connect to your router eg you share in a building that does not have lan cable sockets
