I have really wanted to start a makeup YouTube channel for a while now but I m just too scared. I love all things makeup but I m worried that I ll get no views or subscribers or that people I know will find the videos. I also feel like because so many people do makeup on YouTube these days, it will be impossible
I have really wanted to start a makeup YouTube channel for a while now but I m just too scared. I love all things makeup but I m worried that I ll get no views or subscribers or that people I know will find the videos. I also feel like because so many people do makeup on YouTube these days, it will be impossible for me to draw attention to my channel. What should I do?
So your main concern is whether your channel will be succesful.
There are a few things that define success at least:
1. Demand: how many people want to see makeup tutorial. I would say quite a lot.. at least half of the teenage girls. So demand is good
2. Competitors: How many people have started makeup channels. If there are too many then this decreases the likelihood of your channel succeeding.
3. Quality: even though there are plenty of makeup channels, it all depends on quality. if your quality is really good, then it doesn't matter as much if there are a 100 makeup channels. This can be seen with the example of McDonalds.. so many burger shops, but mcdonalds is the big dog.. because they are cheap and tasty.
4. Ingenuity: Your quality could be really good.. but if it is only a bit better than older channels (who already have a lot of subscribers) then you might not find too much success. So you got to have a lot of innovations and differences that other channels do not.
What do I think your success will be?
You could be succesful. Who am I to say no?
But you just got to think smart and be patient.
I personally don't think you will succeed since there are too many makeup channels. But you could prove me wrong, especially if you are very passionate
Every teen boy tries to create a 'gamer' channel.
Teen girls – try to create 'Beauty & Makeup' channels. A 'makeup' channel is becoming the new butterfly-tattoo at the base of your spine. The channels are just excuses to get your face on video.
PICK A DIFFERENT TOPIC
Pick a hobby and create a channel that is not such an obvious cry for attention. Cooking, Book Tubing, Crafting, Dog Training, etc. These are much less cliche and will probably attract others interested in the same hobby.
Do it! So what if no one sees at first? Do you really think all the more well known people instantly got a hundred subscribers and likes on the first video? Try it, and if you enjoy making those video, keep making them. Don't let others define your life!
Don't be scared 🙂
