Will Malwarebytes/Avast detect most Malware? As I am worried since I accidentally visited a dodgy site and my browser started to briefly flash like something odd was happening so I quickly exited the browser

So if something was happening do you think my anti-virus/malware programs would detect the problem?

TheGlassesGuy: Malwarebytes and others are good at finding malware. However, they do not find all viruses. Virus scanning is a different function, though they do overlap a lot with malware. To be sure, you must run a good anti-virus software as well.

Malware scanners find malware, and some viruses.

your computer is probably fine… it wouldn't hurt to run malwarebytes.. and maybe get and run ccleaner to clean temporary files. browser cache files… at most, any malware you might have picked up would be browser related.. and a reset of that browser would fix it… (google on how to reset whatever browser you use)

Malwarebyte should find most things if they are there. Update and run it to see what it can find.

A suggestion: I use spybot to immunise my PC give it a go as prevention is better than cure.

Yes you should be fine just do a threat scan in malwarebytes it will detect any underlying problems.
