Can I login and stay undetected? What if they are using software like 'Who is using my WiFi'?
Umm first part is agreed. You should spoof or attempt to spoof the name of one of the PCs in your neighbors house. So being if it was windows and you know the name of the owner. Then you would name your user account "xxxxxxx-PC"
Second part I saw the speak of legality. I can tell you 2 things having worked for an ISP myself. It is not illegal unless you hack the wifi. If they give you the password then they are taking responsibility for whatever you do under that IP. Many people have gotten busted downloading things they shouldnt have even though it wasnt them doing it. Next on wifi without a password it is automatically considered public and also not illegal. Not that I recommend either. In normal circumstances the answer would be no since any tech savy person could see a duplicate with tje wrong MAC address
There are a couple of problems with this scenario. The first being that it is illegal for your neighbor to give you a WiFi signal that doesn't belong to him. He pays a monthly fee to the ISP to use their property. He'll eventually be caught when more than one connection shows up using his WiFi signal. And secondly, the neighbor can not only see every internet connection you make, but they ( and anyone else who has the password ), can see inside your computer, putting accounts that use passwords in jeopardy of being compromised. There are people who give their WiFi password out just so they can easily see what you are doing and what may be on your hard drive. So why take a chance? WiFi isn't that expensive. Keep your computer contents safe and secure from prying eyes.
There's no way to prevent them from doing so.
They don't even need a special software to do it, they can just log into the router itself and view the logs for it, which will show all devices connecting to it. If they are smart, they can even restrict what websites you connect to using it, the hours you can use it and even block you.
You can't hide your device either, if you did your device wouldn't connect to their router.
If you're that paranoid, just get your own service.
You can't use their WiFi without their permission so it's not possible that they can't see you while you are using their WiFi.
You cannot use their WiFi without them being able to see when you are logged on. This information is normally available from the router if they choose to look. Depending on their set up, they might be capturing the details of every site that you connect to.
The only way round this is to stop free-loading and get your own ISP connection.
They would have to be pretty savvy but there is no 100% way for you to hide from them what sites you visit while on their wifi.
There is no way to escape from this.Whenever you connect to their WiFi they can check about the connected devices in their router page.
I doubt if most people know how to get to the router page to see when you are on-line. Did they GIVE you the password or did you steal it ? Why would they care when you are on if they gave you their password ?
Don't do it it's illegal and your they are trying to do online stalking to you
Their router status page will show all connected devices. You can't "hide" and still be connected.
