Ok so I have this strange problem that nobody else seems to have. First I should start by saying I have very decent internet on speed test my results are: 15 ping around and around 60mbps so I shouldn't have any real problems regarding ping. everything works fine even if multiple people are using the internet

Ok so I have this strange problem that nobody else seems to have. First I should start by saying I have very decent internet on speed test my results are: 15 ping around and around 60mbps so I shouldn't have any real problems regarding ping. everything works fine even if multiple people are using the internet at the same time with their pc but as soon as 1 of my sisters goes to her room upstairs and uses her pc my internet gets slow and my ping sikes up to 250-300 this only happens when my sister uses her laptop upstairs not downstairs. I have no idea why this happens and I have tried everything trying to fix it but nothing works sometimes by changing some router settings It fixes it for 5 minutes but then I start spiking again. does anyone know why this is happening and how I can fix it?

Check the 802.11 version (b,g,n,ac, etc.) each computer and the router are using. If one is a slower type, the rest of the wireless group has to slow down. And if the slowest one is built into your sister's computer, you're going to have to live with it or set up a second wireless.

Go and check whether she is downloading some thing or not. Her laptop might be on auto update and updating the Tools in the background

Hide her/their computer(s)

She is obviously doing something VERY download intensive when she is upstairs.

Brandon:
perhaps her laptop is interfering with the signal. how far is it from the router? have you tried disconnecting router, waiting 30 secs and reconnecting?
