How do you know a hack has been attempted? It could be that somebody has simply spoofed your email address and not touched your account at all.
Change the password, and make sure the new password is secure and difficult to guess. Perhaps pick two or three random words such a Parrot, Ford and Banana. Would anyone guess bananaPARROTford?
Make sure your password recovery options are set up correctly. If you have the option of receiving a code by text message to your cell phone, this is one of the safest recovery options. Questions such as "Mother's Maiden Name?" are not very safe unless you lie and put in a random name that you will probably have forgotten when you need it.
I hope this helps.
It is quite common for emails to say they have been attempted failed logins, i get a few a week and to some onine services, its just part of being on the internet. Best practice is to change you password at least every 60 days and make sure its not a common word. More like a longish code 12 or more characters. You should also consider turning on something called two factor authentication as well if you see this at all, gmail and outlook offer this, its just an app you install on your phone and you have to put a code in each time you sign in, no code no signin it makes it a bit more secure.
Change the password. Making sure you use a device that has NOT been hacked!
You should change the password if that is the case.
