Ferdy Hoshigaki: Do you mean proxy or PPPOE? You have to login to use? Proxy has nothing to do with networking, it runs at a higher level. In other words, a proxy needs a network to run at all.

Most routers can be configured to use PPPOE, you just have to configure it.

If your laptop is windows, you could configure ICS and forget the router to get the phone online temporarily.

Trying to bridge the wireless side of the laptop to a wireless router
is not going to work.

CHange the setup!!! You say Ethernet CableISP <-> Laptop <bridge via WLAN> Wireless router <-> Phone
Why not just go.. Ethernet Cable to Wireless router <–> Both computer and phone connect to router! It is cleaner it is proper it is the normal setup!
Routers are designed to connect MULTIPLE devices to one internet connection. Your setup makes you use your computer as a router and the router as a router and rarely can someone with little experience get two routers to work properly! Can you make it work, Maybe, should you make it work that way.. NO!

Why not connect the phone directly to the wireless router?
