My brother recently gave me his old computer, and i was wondering if it was any good?
The specs are:
intel i7 3970x
16gb of g skill trident ram
asus p8p67 pro motherboard
h100i gtx cpu cooler
256 gb 850 pro ssd
sorry got the wrong motherboard its the asus p9x79 pro
Andrew: GPU: Good for 1080p gaming
CPU: a little old (3-4 years) but when it was new it was the best available.
RAM: that's pretty standard for a mid/high-end gaming PC.
Motherboard: nothing special, it just does everything you would expect a motherboard to do. Only downside is no M.2 support.
Cooler: the most popular AIO water cooler. You can't get much better without doing a custom loop.
SSD: It's Samsung. It's pretty much automatically good.
Yup, that's still a decent computer and should run pretty much any current game. It's no longer cutting edge, but better than a lot of the new "budget" game machines you can buy new.
Probably wants a new HDD added if it's only got the SSD in there now. But that wont cost much.
Yes, definitely still has a lot of oomph to it. The parts are a little bit on the older side, but the newer parts haven't really gotten any better since then.
It's a bit dated but it's still a runner.
Dust it out and maybe change the thermal paste on it.
Core i7-3970X @ 3.50GHz 12653
CPU is a 6 core, 12 thread and may not perform great with every game, but should be good enough on everything.
