I am 100% self taught on every programming language and I find it difficult to get a full time position. It is not impossible, I have been offered 2, but the conditions were not good enough for me to stop my current career. What you'll find is that you can find freelance work more easily, but people will expect for you to be cheaper because you don't have a degree. You'll also find that after enough freelance work, eventually you'll stumble over a full time position, if you did a good enough job.

My advise is if you don't have the will or capital to attend college then become an absolute master at programming. Make people want to come to you for advice.

instead of codeacademy you'd be better off learning from

freelancing maybe… anything else you generally need a minimum of a degree
Saya:
Good luck with that.
