Mr. Smartypants: There's no real evidence that the weak signal from a wifi router will do any damage. You can take that two ways–it hasn't been shown to be dangerous but also it hasn't been shown to be safe.

But for about 20 years now millions of Americans have walked around with cellphones practically glued to the sides of their heads, and there hasn't been a huge epidemic of brain cancer or anything.

Sometimes I do believe we are all getting stupider and stupider over time, but it's not cellphones or wifi routers that are responsible.

Mr. Smartypants:
What do want us to tell you – that you should be wearing a tin-foil hat??? If you did NOT have a router, then every single minute of every day, THOUSANDS of waves and signals are going thru your body – AM?FM., shortwave. microwave communication, aviation signals – the list is endless. You would have to be some kind of nut-job survivalist many miles off the grid – and although you would not have cable TV or cellphone reception – there STILL would be some level or signal eventually hitting you.

A famous writer in the early 20 the century – James Thurber – said that when their house first got electricity, his elderly aunt would refuse to walk around in bare feet anymore. She was SURE that *loose electrics* would be pouring out of all the unused outlets, and spilling on the floor – and if her bare feet were the slightest bit damp, she would be electrocuted! He had to run a wet dog thru the place to convince her otherwise.

So unless you plan to stick you head in a microwave – and you cannot turn it on anyway, unless the door is shut – the you are fine. Except for the Nervous Nellie stuff . . .

Neil:
No. But if you're that worried, move over. Twice as far away = 1/4 the signal strength.
