Sebastian Spini:
When our daughter was about your age, she composed music using Sibelius software, which allowed her to write the notes, assign the instrument to play those notes, and sing the vocals, putting it all together. I have no idea if they're still around (this was about ten years ago) but if they are, check them out.
Studio:
I use FL Studio Producer Edition. It's not too hard to learn but has advanced features. You can use VST plugins and samples to get any sound you want, it's great for electronic music but not limited to it. You can try the free demo at flstudio.com or buy it with 10% discount with the promo link for new users https://support.image-line.com/jshop/sho…
Make sure to read the manual https://www.image-line.com/support/FLHel… and there are many tutorial videos.

Another great option is Ableton Live. It's more expensive, but if you like the workflow it's worth it. http://www.ableton.com/

Lauren:
flat.io for writing the lyric part of the score and noteflight for the instrumental part. They are both free

you are obviously not that good a pianist or violinist then.
