Tracy L: If some idiot says he will come steal your house because he has your IP do you worry? To do a DDOS attack takes several thousand computers from several thousand users! (Distributed Denial.. get the meaning!) Anyone saying they are going to DDOS you doesn't know the meaning or how to do it period.
Most ISP's are aware of such attacks and have monitoring software to prevent it reaching a residential users machine. As far as your router, just make sure you haven't enabled web / interent management. If no ports are open he can't do anything. Now if YOU are dumb enough to load software or open email attachments, or allow chat messages to be unscreened or other stupid things… all bets are off.!!!!

Tracy L:
Where you connected via WiFi or Phone ISP connection…

If WiFi call your ISP and request a new Dynamic IP

You can do the same on your Phone ISP but more than like it will change for you and much quicker than your Home ISP.

Unless he is a hacker, he has no way to get your IP address
