Hi yahooers! I have REALLY got a problem! Up until a week ago, my computer was working just fine! If I pressed a letter key, the letter would pop up! Now though, if I press any key I get a weird sequence of numbers and asterisks and dashes and basically everything that SHOULDNT be popping up. I ve tried everything, and even reset my computer. I can t take it much longer, and if I don t fix it I won t ever be able to use it again!

Some extra details: I have an HP Pavilion and am using Windows 10.

When trying to unlock my computer (Which requires capital letters) the light on the key doesn t go on!

PLEASE HELP! I don t know what to do and I can t take it in!

This is simple you should go to a tech support help phone, email, or workplace
But it can be resolved easy because water or stuff can mess up the buttons and make it confused
(Example is one time my mom spilled a water bottle on it all the letters would come out as random stuff i managed to get it to say a bunch of mixed letters but say its broken then it got fixed)
You can use a wireless keyboard or use a different device for now.
Tor-Bjorn:
Sounds like the electronics in your keyboard is physically broken. If warranty still applies, then rush back to claim a fix. Otherwise you could try replacing the keyboard or plan moving to a new computer.
As a temporary solution, try connecting an external keyboard via USB.
Kenny:
Try Testing a different keyboard
Valleycat1:
Do you have a wireless keyboard? Replace the batteries and see if that helps. You could try cleaning the keyboard or making sure it is connected securely. Or your keyboard may have gone bad and need to be replaced.
chrisjbsc:
Replace the keyboard.
