Hi! I'm a 13 y/o girl and I really want a laptop of my own. Currently I use my own account on my mom's laptop. I didn't ask for one for Christmas, because I didn't want one as much when I was making my list. I am super grateful for all my Christmas gifts, and I feel bad wanting to ask for another

Hi! I'm a 13 y/o girl and I really want a laptop of my own. Currently I use my own account on my mom's laptop. I didn't ask for one for Christmas, because I didn't want one as much when I was making my list. I am super grateful for all my Christmas gifts, and I feel bad wanting to ask for another thing that's $300, especially after my parents got me all this stuff. How do I ask for a laptop? (my bday isn't close)

You don't necessarily need to ask for a computer, but at age 13, you should be able to earn some money of your own. Babysitting is a perfect way for a 13 year old girl to make some extra money. If you're not experienced in babysitting, I'd suggest contacting the nearest American Red Cross Center and ask about their babysitting program. This is a good way to learn and being certified by the American Red Cross as a qualified babysitter, that should be a plus to your potential customers. You probably have neighbors that have small children who need someone to take care of them for a few hours while their parents are out for the evening. When your parents find out you want to work to earn some extra money for a laptop, they'll likely help contribute part of that expense since you're willing to work for it. And you learn to meet new people and get experience doing something you may like. The Red Cross will teach you all about keeping the children and yourself safe when in a strange environment. And hopefully your parents are just a phone call away. Give it some thought or choose another type of work you could do. Maybe you could earn some extra money for working around the house.

You should talk with your parents. You should tell them why you want a laptop. The good things about having them. Look up some different types of laptops. How it is going to help you eductionaly. And things like that.

13 is too young for a laptop get a tablet instead you can do all the internet music chat stuff better!

I am not belittling you because your only 13 but I'm a PC doctor and I see thousands of laptops broken by teens they simply forget and drop it sit on it step on it set it on the bed and it burns up or the couch or the carpet.

Get a tough screen tablet you will have it much longer

Do you have any gift cards left over? Tell them that you didn't want to ask for much this Christmas and to you it would have seemed like a lot asking for a laptop. Tell then that it would be extremely helpful for your studies and school, and that having your own can have several uses to it. Other than that there's not much you can do unless your parents are very generous.

Don't ask. Volunteer to do jobs for which you can get aid in order to save up for one.

Get one before going into highschool because if you get one now by the time you reach highschool and you need it to do assignments it's already gonna be old and slow trust me I talk from experience

Make your own money, I have to buy my own presents.
