You "lock down" your Wi-Fi by putting a WPA2 passcode in place. Most (home) routers have a default Wi-Fi passcode, but you should change it if you need to once again limit who has access to your router.

You have to access your router's web configuration screens to make changes like this. I suggest you also first connect your computer to your router using a short length of Ethernet cable. Then search the 'Net for your model of router's User Manual and it will tell you how to change the Wi-Fi passcode. Or update your question with the make & model of your router and we can help you find the correct manual.
