He hid it pretty well and I need help finding it
Couple of ways if this is a windows based computer, you can go to start/all programs, in there you will see a folder call startup, right click on what you dont want and click delete, that should sort it out, the worst case, you can delete items from the registry that may be loading automatically but probably best to let a tech sort that out
Allow the program to run again, Then find it's process in task manager. Right click it and click go to file location. You may need to click Go To Details first then right click that and go to file location.
Once the location is found kill the process and delete the file. If this file was placed using an installer you may find it in Add or Remove Programs.
I also suggest installing Malwarebytes lite, It is very effective.
When I was 13 I had a virus that locked every file on the computer, I used this technique to find the file, And managed to delete it when the PC started up before the virus launched itself to lock me out. It was pretty intense, I had a 10-15 second window from the time I could see my desktop to the time the virus would activate. I never navigated so fast in my life.
P.S. Sensei thinks installing and downloading are the same thing, I wouldn't listen to him. Check Add or Remove Programs before you delete a file.
RIght click your start menu.
Go to "programs and features"
Everything thats been downloaded onto your computer should be in there.
in MOST cases, anything with an unlisted publisher should be deleted.
try this microsoft approved software utility(see link) and stop messing with stuff you dont understand, just deleting things can leave your system with only one option – RESET IT COMPLETELY. you could also need MALWAREBYTES to remove it.
