So, I stupidly upgraded to Windows 10 on Tuesday. On initial start up, I saw that my music/pictures/documents weren t in the right places, so like an idiot, I moved them. Then when I restarted my PC later, they were gone. So I thought that maybe a restore would get them back (I m no tech wizard), so I restored back

So, I stupidly upgraded to Windows 10 on Tuesday. On initial start up, I saw that my music/pictures/documents weren t in the right places, so like an idiot, I moved them. Then when I restarted my PC later, they were gone. So I thought that maybe a restore would get them back (I m no tech wizard), so I restored back to Windows 8.1 and they re still not back.

Any ideas? Thankfully my photos are backed up to Google Photos, but I am gutted that I lost all of my music and ebooks.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

by default windows 10 puts your personal files into and stores on one drive. try opening file explorer and just click on C drive/this pc, see if windows old there or search your pc, type mp3 ought find them or try recuva, it is free by piriform. iF GO BACK TO WINDOWS 10 and sign back in your files should be in one drive as access on any device
TWB:
Use the search feature and look for one of your ebooks or songs. If they are still on your hard drive it will find it and show the folder it is in.

If that does not find anything then there is a good chance they are gone but you can try using Recuva from Piriform. It might be able to retrieve some of them. Its worth a shot.

So, they are somewhere else in your computer. You need to go to file explorer, and go to C: drive and on the top right, search the media or Ebook. And then locate
