You have to do it on the computer, usually TCP/IP properties, but it depends on the OS, which you failed to mention.

You have to know ip, netmask, gateway, dns servers. If you run dhcp (dynamic), it will be similar.

If you run DHCP, you can put a reservation for that IP and mac. This will "reserve" the spot, your computer will not ask for a dynamic address so it doesn't matter. Or you can assign it outside the DHCP server's scope.

you set it in the Network Adapter for either Protocol… IPv4 or IPv6

Then you must reserve it on your router…

Some routers allows you to reserve IP Address if not you will have to Adjust your DHCP range to no include those Static IP Addresses
