What you're looking for is called div nesting. Basically you start floating div elements inside of other div container elements and then use CSS floating techniques to move the sidebar around relative to the other content. There are many ways to do what you mention so it would be worth a gander at StackExchange for specific examples on how to do this.

Try making a table or a frame that's one of the ways

Best bet (and easiest method)

<div style="float:left">
<img src="PathToYourImages/YourImage.??? alt=" ">
</div>

??? represents whatever your image file's file-name extension is. For instance, if it's a PNG image file, you'll replace ??? with png.

Or, you prefer not to use local in-tag CSS instructions, you can:

<div class="SomeCleverName">
<img src="PathToYourImages/YourImage.??? alt=" ">
</div>

Then you'd write your CSS in the <style></style> section of the <head></head> section of your HTML code. Or you could write your CSS in a separate file that you <link> to in your HTML file's <head></head> section.

.SomeCleverName {
float:left;
}
