PayPal shipment,

Both a question and a warning,

I was asked to ship an item to Lagos Nigeria, whereby I received emails that confirmed all the necessary steps to receive the money and send the package. The only thing left was to receive confirmation via PayPal.

Here is the warning: if your PayPal account does

PayPal shipment,

Both a question and a warning,

I was asked to ship an item to Lagos Nigeria, whereby I received emails that confirmed all the necessary steps to receive the money and send the package. The only thing left was to receive confirmation via PayPal.

Here is the warning: if your PayPal account does not show any signs of amount changes or changes in activity and history, it is a scam. Sadly it took me forever to find the details of this via PayPal, it seems to be hidden deep within their security risk details. I sent an email to spoof@paypal.com, then the details on what they wouldn't do were shared there.

I am presently attempting to cancel the shipment as I type Hope it works.

SCAM
Paypal does not permit any transactions with Nigeria
You NEVER ship anything anywhere until you go to Paypal.com and see the money in your account. DO NOT trust any emails – they can be fake. Also call paypal and ask for the address associated with that account and DO NOT ship anywhere else. Remember you are only protected if you have signed proof of delivery to the buyer's verified address, which cannot be in Nigeria. If they want something sent to Nigeria, you send to their verified address and it's their problem to ship to Nigeria

Read this article from 2008 explaining the scam – that's how long it's been around but people keep falling for it

Never ever depend on an email! Never for any transaction! Go directly to PayPal! See if the money is deposited in your PayPal account

And onley if it is use PayPal to print the shipping labels! Print out the PayPal receipts!

Never ever ever depend on an email!
You can usually tell a PayPal email scam it begins with dear PayPal customer!

PayPal will address you by the secret name you picked for yourself for contacting you!

And I never ever ship outside the USA never!

If you follow my advice you won't get ripped off PayPal is a good escrow account.

But from past experience with them I will never keep my money in their account.

They will tie up your money so don't put a penny into PayPal until you have to pay a seller.

The only place you should be shipping stuff using Paypal is to the CONFIRMED Paypal address. No shipping instructions are need. If they are requesting it to be shipped to a different address, then it is most definitely a scam, especially to Nigeria. Paypal will not help you if you don't follow their rules.

And on top of that, all the warnings that I read were not part of this process, one of which being that they said 'if the PayPal communications (emails) have grammar mistakes, do not trust it'. well this one had none, I guess this means they are getting good at what they are doing in scamming people.
