It's a scam. The US has NO military bases in Nigeria. Nigerian romance scammers have found that pretending to be a UK or USA military man is one of the more successful techniques for fooling a few women into sending money. I'm sorry. Do not send them any (more) money.
NWIP:
It's a SCAM!!! There is probably a base there but NO Americans or Brits or any other foreign personnel would be there and also online looking for romance.

STOP all communication and report to the website. If you have sent anything file a report with the FTC and CID.

Online dating can work BUT unless you live in an actual military town anyone who claims to be in is a scammer.

Five years ago I found POF.com to be a good site for online dating. Still, I'd never send money. And meet the first time in a public place.

There is a HIGH number of scams coming out of that country. Do NOT send any money to anyone there.
