i want to try and install a trusted VPN on my windows 7 desktop to get around a youtube music video block?

but ive heard not very nice things about VPNs, that they can install bots on your computer, hack your computer..hack other places from your computerreveal your ip address to unknowns..spy and monitor you.among other things.

so what would you propose i do?

does anyone know of any trusted VPN service?

and are they safe to use at home?

Best Answer:

Goblin: Yes. They make a connection between you and a remote VPN hosts. They encrypt any traffic going over that connection. Anyone that sees that traffic will not be able to make sense of it as it requires decryption and the algorithm used to do that is so good that the NSA can't crack it. So yes, VERY safe. And even better in a hotel or other hotspot.

Konakona:
