Sagebrush:
I don't think any satellites were hacked. The media like to emphasise the "satellite" aspect but according to the article the satellites will not be launched until March next year.

It would seem that a not yet operational computer system has various IT vulnerabilities – including password sharing. How many computer systems in the world have IT vulnerabilities? I am guessing more than 97% – to pick a number at random.

Someone has found some audit data, conflated it with the word "satellite" and written an article. I don't think the world will end just yet.

I bet most of the "incidents" were caused by finger trouble by team members. The external attacks will be the usual problems that any connected system will have. How many times have the Chinese tried to access your PC?

Anyway, "The satellite program … feeds prediction models … " so they won't have got anything useful!

FIS – Foreign Intelligence Service.
Mike:
Perhaps it was climate skeptics wanting to check and see what the data was before NASA adjusted it.
kendra:
deniers trying to manipulate data

It's most likely putin or the Chinese.
