Bought a new NETGEAR AC1750 Dual-Band Wireless-AC Router / Modem and a few of my devices (mostly our security system and home stereo) can't connect to it. I read something that made me think it was due to the speed or internet type it puts out. Can I connect another router that isn't as good to the new

(Really dumb it down for my guys, I'm super bad with this stuff.)

Yes, but you can only have one full router to any single network. The second one must be set to disable the DHCP (the feature that sends out IP addresses to the devices). Then it is only a dumb hub.
Still not sure if your older devices will work anyway with the newest router, even with that old router between.

That can make even more problems for networking. Especially items like security systems. If you are using wireless the normal problem is incorrect encryption key entry. For a wired connection there should NEVER be any problem if they are set to get configuration from the router.

According to the MFG website, your new router supports all bands out there. IEEE 802.11ac/n/a 5GHz
IEEE 802.11b/g/n 2.4GHz
It's just a matter of configuring the hardware to use them. Log into your router and check out some of the settings. Otherwise, refer to the manual.
