I have no idea why this is or what is causing this. I have a good anti virus installed and ran a check to see if that was it. I'm in the green so that's good.

It is taking me a lot longer to watch YouTube videos now, and watch tv shows online.

I haven't restarted the computer just in case it's not

I haven't restarted the computer just in case it's not that. Also my typing is slower then usual.

What would cause this?

( I guess you have a desktop computer right?)
Check the components temperature, To do so download the following tool:
http://www.cpuid.com/softwares/hwmonitor…
If your CPU/GPU temperature is over 60 Degrees celcius when iddle, You might have a problem.
If so, Open your computer and check if the all the fans are spinning. ( If any of them isn't, It's time to buy a new one)
Check for dust too, That's the main reason of computer overheating.

Not too sure of your version but look in the Event Logs > System and see if there is any sort of disk errors. If there is backup whatever you can buy a new HDD and start again. Or Pay some one to image your HDD.
Trashbuster:
A warning about that defragment option. I defragmented an external hard drive when it said it was needed and it broke it.
Gee:
maybe its your internet
